mikasacusi keep a few comics on my desk* right. and the point of that is so that i can easily grab them bcs they’re some of my favorite things i own. anyways the issue with that is that i kind of often forget they’re there because they’re behind my laptop screen most of the time when i’m at my desk so sometimes i’ll be looking for one in specific* and i’ll pull them all out and be like. huh. forgot i owned that sabretooth var or that old moon knight issue. what d’y’know. this story doesn’t have a moral or anything i’m just blogging
*my collection is sorted into four parts: single issues in a drawer in my art supplies drawer set; drawer tower with a drawer for collections, a drawer for tpbs, a drawer for graphic novels; comics on my desk between two book ends; and a few comics i keep on my special shelf with cool things on it like figs and taxidermy and other stuff
*usually this is my signed mlp comic which is in horrid condition but it’s special to me so explode idc
the difference between the drawer for collections and the drawer for tpbs is that my collections are all collections of newspaper comics/cartoons*, and tpbs are JUST trade paperbacks*
*ex: calvin & hobbes, bloom county, far side, or the new yorker. this is also where an omnibus would go if i owned one ☹️
*to mean that they’re a paperback reprinting of a single arc from a comic run
